Could humans live forever? Expert claims there is a possibility for humans to achieve immortality with AI and genetic engineering

Getting old would soon be a thing of the past, and the possibility of humans outliving death is ever more possible, according to a pioneering futurologist.

As it has been from time past, humans have had to live with certain physical constraints, which has led to varying life expectancy of different races, with the highest average of 75 years. A leading futurologist predicts that a time will come when any physical constraints will not bound humans. He predicts that come the year 2050, humans could outlive the limitations imposed on the physical body.

Dr. Ian Pearson is the futurologist for has come out with these claims. Originally from Ipswich, Dr. Ian Pearson is an engineer and inventor. He teaches on the future and its interactions with our daily lives. Dr. Ian Pearson believes the human race is closer than before to crack immortality. Cracking immortality has been something humans have been trying to achieve in times past. The Ancient Greek Alchemist where the first to attempt to form a philosopher stone that would cause people to live forever.

For Pearson, though, the benchmark for anyone who wants to live forever is to get to 2050. He has always been fascinated with immortality, genetic engineering, and science for quite some time now.

“The idea that we could live forever has been on the lips of everyone even in times past, and even now, lots of people are interested in the idea that they could live forever. But whereas persons wanted it in the past, the key lies in the future. The coming of age of science, along with the all-round improvement of technology, means people are now more hopeful that it can be achieved. ” Dr. Pearson explained to the Sun.

He also added, “2050 is the benchmark for anyone with intentions of living forever, survive up to 2050, and you might never have to see death as a problem anymore.”

Dr. Pearson continued, “By 2050, achieving immortality will only be something that the rich and famous can attain. The middle-class citizens and the working class might be able to afford immortality by the late 2060s. So, in other words, anyone that is no more than 90 as of 2060 stands a great chance of achieving immortality.

“So we have persons born around the 1970s period, standing a great chance of being alive by the time we are technologically ready. Anybody who is under 40 at present, is in line to witness the dynamic feat.”

Dr. Pearson mentions that there are a number of promising ways via which people can skip death

Genetic engineering

One of the promising ways via which people can skip death is through the use of genetic engineering to create an entirely new body or renew body parts.

Currently, we have seen the popularity of lab-grown tissues and organs that are utilized for transplanting needs, and they’ve helped to reduce dependency in human donors and, in a way, decrease organ rejections.

As cells naturally age, they become less than their old self. They lose their resilience and start failing, and gradually lose their functionality. However, with some specific techniques, some people see the aging process being reversible.

Reversing the aging process is still a strong possibility, there are always one or two complexities associated with the process. The most possible outcome is to abandon the aging body and proceed to an artificial body.

“We’ll able to connect our minds to machines and literally be living in the cloud before we can fix our bodies as we like and rejuvenate it the way we want to,” Dr. Pearson explained.

Hybrid Intelligence Biometric Avatar

Hybrid Intelligence Biometric Avatar was displayed at a World Government Summit in Dubai, buttressing the point made by Dr. Pearson.

Hybrid intelligence Biometric Avatar was the combination of several studies highlighting that humans could be connected via a collective AI consciousness.

The international network will one day enable us to forgo speech and communicate with ourselves through nothing but our thoughts by the year 2050.

In expanding on the idea, Dr. Pearson claims that we would do more than just be connected to a computer system in 2050. We would have an android shell to help enhance the connection.

Consciousness, memories, and mind will be loaded up into online servers, and the android body will provide a way for us to connect to the online servers and, at the same time, carry out real-world functions.

The present state of sex dolls and the development in that area gives Dr. Pearson the belief that we are not so far away from immortality. The current progress means they are looking more human-like with each passing day, and in less than three more decades, sex dolls are projected to be more lifelike.

Dr. Pearson makes a striking comparison between such android bodies, to homes for our consciousness and mind. He sees it as hiring different cars, depending on your locale.

So, instead of traveling to Paris to see the Eifel Tower, you could simply download your consciousness into an android body in Paris.

He sees such feats as achievable in no distant time. However, the initial price will be very high, as only the rich will have the resources to acquire it in 2050. But hopefully, by the 2060s, the working class, and the middle class would be able to attain them.

Through body regeneration

With the enhancement of technology and medicine, renewing body parts is no longer science fiction. The combination of biotechnology and medicine offers a way to extend their life by renewing and rejuvenating the body.

Dr. Pearson explained, ” Nobody wants to be immortal at 95 years old, a younger option is what everyone would go for. So the possibility of rejuvenating the body to 30 years is a more feasible and effective option.”

To achieve the rejuvenation and regeneration feat, several methods such as genetic engineering and reverse aging of cells will be implemented.

As an alternative, you can replace worn-out organs by replacing them with new ones.

Scientists have already started growing tissues and organs in the lab. With the continuous development of technology, they can go on to achieve more.

Several scientists around the world are already working towards developing human organs utilizing 3D printers loaded with living cells, and this might gradually reduce the dependence on human donors.

The technology of 3D printing and reversing aging cells provides a way for humans to live forever.

Through Robots/Androids

With the way robots are getting more human features and enhancements, it wouldn’t be too long before we can upload our human consciousness into one in the future.

Consciousness, memories, and minds can be loaded up into online servers. An android body will provide a way for us to connect to the online servers and, at the same time, carry out real-world functions.

The present state of sex dolls and the development in that area give Dr. Pearson the belief that we are not so far away from immortality. The current progress means they are looking more human-like with each passing day, and in less than three more decades, sex dolls are projected to be more lifelike.

Through Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality

Virtual Reality and Augmented reality are starting to connected the dots between real and artificial, and it is only a matter of time human consciousness can exist independently of a body in a computer simulation.

According to Dr. Pearson, “If you wish, you could spend all the time you want in a virtual world on any computer. You have the opportunity of living an online life all you want, free from the shackles of physical life. Because the virtual world is completely imaginary, there is so much you can achieve with no boundaries.”

Dr. Pearson believes humans can even connect their minds to other minds and achieve unlimited intelligence. The technology is already in place. It also will offer humans the ability to be in multiple places a the same time.

There is so much possibility in the immortality concept, and achieving it is even nearer than before thanks to technology. The challenging part is to stay alive until the technology comes into fruition, and according to Dr. Pearson that means staying alive till 2050.
