Now the Samsung Company has not just done the bendgate on a bigger scale, it has introduced a world class innovation – the Samsung Bend tablet. A touchscreen tablet with an ability to bend as far as 50o , it also has a virtual keyboard. Isn’t that cool?
The inspiration behind this design is second to none; taking inspiration from iconic objects like the Apple Watch, Leica M9 camera and even household items like a chair or radio;
infusing an Apple feel into a Samsung software giving a UI that is totally different from what we are used;
and designing a beautiful piece whose lower part can be folded due to a flexible screen and arranged into four different ways
(The heaviest part of the tablet is placed at the lower part to prevent the tablet from tripping over. )
Its Designer Robrecht Vanhauwere holds that the lower part of the flexible part can be unfolded for use as a transparent keyboard; awesome right? And when you are done typing, you can decide to flex the device back to a slate and enjoy on screen content, with an edge to edge aspect
