Nothing spells the color of love more than the color pink. Think of those special moments like your daughter’s birthday celebration, your wedding anniversary, or the coming of a newborn baby. Each of these moments is worth celebrating and how best to spice up these ceremonies and events than by adding a little pink sweet to your menu, thereby adding a little romanticism and love.
With so much variety of sweets available, there are so many options to choose from depending on the setting you are aiming for. Be it an adult party or a kid’s party, various types of pink sweet are very much needed. Having a bowl of pink lollipops, pink candy, hard pink candy, and even a pink sweet buffet on the table would sure get your guests into the groove and that special someone a little over-excited. Imagine you serving your wife breakfast in bed with a small tray of pink sweets. It doesn’t get lovelier than that. Making pink sweets can be fun and easy, with many materials or experience needed. Follow the procedure below to make your own pink sweet for that special someone.
- 5 to 6 drops of pink food coloring
- 2 teaspoon of vanilla
- 5 tablespoons of sugar
- Half a cup of water
- Half a cup of syrup (either golden or corn)
- Plastic mold
- Pan or pot
- Spatula and spoon
- Stove/Gas cooker
Get a clean pot or pan and place it on the stove with moderate heat. Pour in all the water, followed by the sugar and the syrup. Ensure the water is absolutely clean, with no particles inside of it. Stir the mixture in the pan vigorously and allow to mix.
Continue to stir the mixture so as to ensure the sugar mixes and dissolves appropriately. Scrape the side of the pan with a spatula to prevent any sugar from sticking to the side and getting burnt. Any burnt sugar will give our sweet a funny taste.
Allow the sugar to mix correctly and completely dissolve. Allow to boil, and as it does, insert a candy thermometer to check the temperature. Continue boiling and stirring until the temperature reaches 146oC or 295oF depending on the type of thermometer we use and then remove the pan from the stove. Do not allow the sweet mixture to exceed this temperature, or else the sweet might get burnt, and our desired taste and color will be affected.
Add in our pink food coloring and stir vigorously. Ensure the mixture is thoroughly stirred, and the coloration affects every part of the sweet.
Pour the pink sweet syrup into a plastic mold of various shapes and sizes with a spoon and allow it to cool. After cooling, you can pop the pink sweets from the plastic mold, and you are ready to serve.
Pink sweets are not only colorful and sweet, but they also show a sign of love for your special one. They add spice to your special events making it even more memorable. You don’t need to go all out and get pink sweets from the store. You can sit back at home and prepare some yourself. It is easy and fun.
