Duro Olowu Collection 2015: A Senegalese-inspired vintage fashion film (Watch)

Nigerian designer Duro Olowu joins forces with Senegalese model Kinee Diouf to launch one of this year’s most significant collections.

In this fashion film directed by Portuguese fashion photographer Luis Monteiro, Diouf becomes the face of the brand wearing Duro Olowu’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection which drew inspiration from the retro, floral prints from the Senegalese island Saint-Louis.

The guiding light also comes from Japanese film noir and 1940 pin-up darlings.

According to OkayAfrica: the Pointer Sisters eponymous debut album also acted as reference points for Olowu as he constructed the collection’s retro looks.
