If Kim K West’s nudity was seen as breaking the internet while raising so much dust, what would we then call Erica Simone’s nudity stunt.
The French Photographer after leaving in New York for 12 years hopes to raise $10,000 to publish her “Nue York: Self-Portraits of a Bare Urban Citizen” photo book containing images of her literally naked on the streets of New York city. And yes! She is more than halfway her goal.
Her pictures are taken everywhere imaginable: on plane, in bodegas, on subways, in parks and more. Her reasons?
As I watch an image-absorbed society care more about the sales at Barney’s than the homeless people they ignore as they parade by, I began to ponder: ‘What would the world feel like naked? What if we didn’t have clothing to come in between us? Or if we couldn’t show off our social status? What if all we had were our bodies to express our personalities?’ … From there, my photographic project was born. With a tripod and a couple ounces of adrenaline, I took to the busy streets to get a taste of New York in the nude.
In her words, she is not trying to shock anyone or even break the internet like Kim K did, but she is only creating and art.
She is sure breaking the internet with this bold move.
