OJ Simpson is being prepared for release.  A Nevada parole board on Thursday decided Simpson should be freed after the former NFL star apologized for his role in a 2007 armed robbery, said he’d been a model prisoner and promised that he’d have no conflicts if released.
Brooke Keast, a spokeswoman for the Nevada Department of Corrections, said Friday that Simpson was subsequently moved out of the general inmate population to special housing.

70 year old OJ Simpson is an American former Football Star, actor, advertising spokesperson and broadcaster is currently nine years into a 30 year sentence for armed robbery but may be a free man as early as October.

Of course OJ’s heavy sentence for stealing his own possessions back  (but in an illegal way) was seen as final karma for murdering his wife Nicole Brown and her alleged lover Ron Goldman back in 1994.  Although OJ was famously acquitted of the crimes in a televised trial with transfixed the nation, he is widely believed to be guilty, especially after damaging testimonies and films about the killings were released. However his trial was largely seen as a battleground for race relations at the time and somewhat ‘bigger’ than a murder trial.

The Goldman family have spoken in interviews about their disappointment but suggested they would continue to pursue OJ Simpson for whatever justice might be available to them through his future endeavors and would never let the world forget what he did.  The family (and the Simpsons) were awarded over $30 million in a civil suit but were not able to satisfy the debts due to it being tied up in trusts.  His father and sister said they believed he was the same person who killed Ron and Nicole and added that they did not believe OJ was capable of living a conflict-free life.
